The Tampa Bay Chapter of the Social Enterprise Alliance will hold its next FREE Mixer at 5:30pm on Wednesday evening, April 6th at Mugs Bar & Grille in the Icot Center just off Ulmerton Road, just East of the US 19 & Ulmerton Road junction and just 1/2 mile West of 49th Street.

Each Mixer provides the opportunity for a local Social Enterprise/Non-Profit to present complete information on how their organization got started, exactly what is their Mission and how they are achieving sustainability and how they are effectively meeting their mission. This month's speaker is Vicky Westra who is the President and Founder of Artistas Café and Javamo Art for Autism, both social enterprises supporting individuals diagnosed with Autism.

Vicky and her team are now establishing an Autism Development Center that will address the major issues facing those with Autism - Employment, Independent Living and Community Integration. The Center will house a variety of different business enterprises where they can match people with Autism's talent and abilities with the right job fit. Once this model is established, they will be expanding this concept to serve other communities around the country.

PLEASE NOTE:

May 4th - Colonel Sam Martin

The Tampa Bay Chapter of the Social Enterprise Alliance will hold its next FREE Mixer on Wednesday evening, May 4th at Mugs Bar & Grille in the Icot Center just off Ulmerton Road, just East of the US 19 & Ulmerton Road junction and just 1/2 mile West of 49th Street.

Each Mixer provides the opportunity for a local Social Enterprise/Non-Profit to present complete information on how their organization got started, exactly what is their Mission and how they are achieving sustainability and how they are effectively meeting their mission.

This month's speaker will be Colonel Sam Martin, USAF (retired). A native of Texas, Col. Sam Martin, USAF (Ret.), served in the US Air Force for nearly a quarter century. As a Vietnam Veteran who flew fighters over Southeast Asia in the late ‘60’s, Sam is a strong advocate for integrity and fair play in the automobile marketplace today. Sam developed the VetBuy program as a tribute to all members of the US military who have served this great nation. His concept, “working for the Veteran, not the Dealer,” is changing the way service members purchase vehicles. More recently, Sam’s involvement with several non-profit organizations alerted him to the difficulties associated with fund-raising. He used his automotive background to develop the Silver Wings Program in 2015 to assist these organizations with an ongoing source of fundraising that is free and easily implemented.
